This past weekend was the Logansport Kennel Club Dog Show which was held at the National Military History Center. Dogs of all shapes and sizes pranced and trotted their way around the ring to try and win the coveted prize of first place.
The dogs were divided into 7 groups: Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding. In total, there were 839 entrants.
While I was there I got the chance to see a beautiful 2 year old Spaniel named Mallory win the blue ribbon for the Sporting Group.
Behind the scenes in the grooming area was where the real action took place. Blow-drying, shampooing, and clipping sounds filled the air as the handlers groomed their dogs with care.
It takes a lot of preparation to make sure that not a hair is out of place and the dog is in prime showing condition.
This was also the area where dogs could get some rest after the long day.
Dogs from all over the U.S. participated in this competition making it a great event to witness, especially if you love dogs.
