As the Fourth of July approaches in a few short days, we want to give visitors and residents to DeKalb County, Indiana an easily accessible spot to see all of the festivities happening July 1st through July 5th! Read on to find out more!
Friday, July 1st, the excitement will begin with plenty of fun, starting Downtown Auburn on 6th Street for ADAC’s “First Friday” July event! Since this “First Friday” bash is so close to July 4th, accordingly, the theme is “As American As”!
Attendees can look forward to many activities, including late night shopping, a hot dog eating contest and a patriotic parade that will lead to the next destination: the DeKalb County Outdoor Theater for the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Patriotic Pops Concert at 7:30 PM! Jeremiah’s will be hosting an After Hours event following the concert, which will consist of fun “giant size” games, and beverages offered by Mad Anthony’s!
On Sunday, July 3rd, the annual Garrett Heritage Days begin! There will be all sorts of fun for all ages, including a parade, food & craft vendors, a performance by Choice and much more!
Monday, the Heritage Days will continue and fireworks will take place at 10:00 PM to conclude the festival! The National Military History Center will also be offering free admission into their museums for all active military personnel and veterans!
Tuesday, July 5th, are the highly anticipated Auburn Community Fireworks, which take place each year at the Auctions America Auburn Auction Park! The gates open at 4:00 PM and the fireworks will begin at dusk.
In addition, all three wineries of DeKalb County will be having events throughout the weekend for guests to enjoy! Country Heritage Winery will be offering both a Friday & Saturday Night Wine Down, with music and food trucks! Byler Lane will also have food trucks at their location on Friday and Saturday! Hartland Winery is going to be hosting two concerts, on Saturday and Sunday and will also release their Picnic Punch wine on Friday, July 1st!
