American Ninja Warrior, a television show on NBC, has become very popular in its seven seasons on air. The premise of the show keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, as “competitors tackle the world’s most difficult obstacle course.”
Wouldn’t it be neat to watch such excitement in person? The Classic City Center (CCC), located in DeKalb County, is already ahead of you! John Manon, facility manager at the CCC and an attendee of American Ninja Warrior in June, is the organizer in bringing an American Ninja Warrior style obstacle course to DeKalb County, as well as Todd Gibson, owner of the Classic City Center. This local event does not have any ties to NBC or American Ninja Warrior, but a local television station will be present to cover it! “Classic City Ninja Warrior” will be taking place on October 24th at the CCC, and is considered the only event like it in Northeast Indiana!
This family friendly, all-day event will be held indoors at the 16,000 square foot event arena. Admission is free to the public. However, adult contestants are required to pay a $50 registration fee to compete, and children can receive a wristband for $15 to participate in the kid’s obstacle course and other activities. Prizes will be awarded to category winners!
The excitement doesn’t stop there! Many American Ninja Warrior stars will be at the Classic City Center for the event to sign autographs and interact with the competitors and attendees! Those who are planned to come are Karsten Williams, Drew Drechsel, Indiana native, PJ Granger, and many more!
Food vendors and concessions will be available at the event as well. It is also planned that the following Sunday, October 25th, the public can try the obstacle course for $10 in a non-competition setting.
