It is that time of year again, when people gather from all over the state and beyond, for the annual Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival. This year will mark 59 years that this fun and exciting event has been taking place.
Throughout those years, the ACD Festival has grown into a very well-known Labor Day tradition. This year, the celebration begins on Saturday, August 29th and continues through Monday, September 7th! Every day there are lots of festivities to attend for every age!
The detailed schedule of events can be found at the ACD Festival website. However, here is a run-down on some of the classic happenings that go on during the ACD Festival that you won’t want to miss out on!
Friday, is the ACD Club Swap Meet, which is held at the Auburn Pool parking lot. Later on, people can head downtown Auburn to enjoy the very popular Cruise-In. Included in it will be: an ice-cream social, concert, food trucks, and more!
Saturday, don’t miss out on the traditional Parade of Classics, which will be taking place through the streets of Auburn at 1:00 pm. Before that, the Annual Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club Car Show will be held at the beautiful Eckhart Park displaying 300 classic cars for people to view.
Toward the end of the festival on Sunday, the Annual Arts and Crafts Show will be starting at 9:00 AM. This event has been going on for 35 years! Also on Sunday, there are multiple home tours: The Auburn Historic Tour and the Classic City Historic Home Tour.
Another fabulous event going on during Labor Day is the Auburn Fall Collectors Auction, held at the Auctions America Auction Park. This will be held from Wednesday through Sunday, and it is anticipated that over 800 cars will be present at this year’s auction. The “Auburn Fall” Auction has been taking place for 45 years, and offers something for everyone.
A second auction people can attend is the Worldwide Auctioneers, “The Auburn Auction,” that will span Wednesday through Saturday at the National Auto & Truck Museum.
