What inspired you to start this business?
Jeremy has wanted to open a winery and vineyard for a really long time. We also own and operate Blueberry Acres so making wine is just another way to use our extra fruit. Plus, we have always personally enjoyed wine.
Do you host tours and special events at this new, beautiful facility?
Yes, we are available as a unique venue for special events. Most events are smaller in size for now as space is limited. Tours and facility rental information is available on our website. We recommend that larger groups call ahead for availability.
What goodies are for sale in your gift shop?
We offer a variety of local products in our showroom. We sell jam and honey from our own farm, Blueberry Acres. You’ll also find award-winning cheese, hand-made chocolate, barbecue sauce, wine accessories, soaps, lotions and more! In addition to these unique gifts, we intend to further expand our offerings in the future.
Is there a certain wine etiquette to follow? What if I’m a rookie at wine tasting?
No worries! Our friendly staff will walk you through the wine tasting. There is no reason to be nervous. Just relax and have fun!
What kind of wine can visitors expect to find and enjoy at Country Heritage Winery & Vineyard?
Our wine selection changes seasonally but we currently have 16 different wines from which to choose. We offer a variety of white, red, rose and fruit wines so there’s something for all taste buds. Come taste the wine of the month for FREE! We also offer meat and cheese trays for a little nosh while you sip your vino.
Aside from your winery and farm, what is your favorite attraction in DeKalb County?
I grew up here in DeKalb County so it’s hard to choose. The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum is always great! As a ten-year 4H member, I also love the DeKalb County Fair and my son loves the WWII Victory Museum.

- It takes 2.8 pounds of grapes to make one bottle of wine!
- One ton of grapes make approximately 55-60 cases of wine!
- One grapevine produces about three to five bottles of wine!
